POLAR BEAR CHALLENGE
TO United States and Canada Independent Wellness Consultants and Leaders: Royal Ambassadors; Royal Diamonds; Diamonds; Platinums; Golds and Silvers FROM Martha Yeary, LPGA Member Teaching & Club Professional Division Silver Independent Wellness Consultant REGARDING 2002 B.I.O.N.I.C. Golf Cross-Country Training Tour … Bringing Golf to the Challenged!!!
Together we will be leading the students with a challenge back into the game of life as in the story of the little boy casting the starfish back into the ocean and saying, “it made a difference to that one!!!” It took one man walking along the beach to join the boy’s effort of saving the starfish … then a second … then a third … then multitudes joined together to make a difference!!!
I offer this challenge to each of you and ask that you join me in the 2002 B.I.O.N.I.C. Golf Cross-Country Training Tour … Bringing Golf to the Challenged!!! Together we will promote and host a minimum of 100 golf clinics from Texas to Vancouver, Canada, to St. Louis (just before the Convention on May 15th) and on to the Northeast and Canada and Eastern Coast down to Florida, back through the Southern States, up through Arkansas and Oklahoma and on home to Texas. A list of proposed Clinic cities and dates is included. To complete this Tour the proposed time is 8 months with a starting date of February 18, 2002.
It is my desire to conduct golf clinics for LPGA and PGA Golf
Professionals, coaches, therapist, nurses and other health care
professionals to teach the concepts, techniques and wellness
technologies I have successfully shared with challenged golfers
since 1990. The goal is to have a minimum of three (3) clinics
per week with 10 physically, mentally or emotionally
Local Wellness Consultants will recruit each student. For testing purposes during the training, the “recruiting” Consultant will provide the wellness and energy technology needed for the student. The student can be a Wellness Consultant … however; they must also recruit one additional student and provide the necessary products for both themselves and their friend. The objective is to share vision and hope with 10 new local citizens.
A minimum of 1,000 students across the United States and Canada will learn golf training techniques adapted for their individual needs, experience a difference in their body’s energy, stamina and balance when using wellness technology products and participate in a sport which will allow reentry to their community.
This project will involve a minimum of 1,000 Wellness Consultants working toward making a difference in their communities. A minimum of 1,000 to 2,000 golf professionals, physical therapists, occupational therapists, sports rehab technicians, nurses and other health care professionals will understand how to train a student with a physical, emotional or mental challenge and will personally experience the benefit of using wellness technology for themselves and their existing students, patients and clients.

By networking this with your groups across the United States and Canada, you might find or fan the “burning desire” of an existing Wellness Consultant or develop new ones through their participation in this Polar Bear Challenge.
I truly appreciate your interest, consideration and participation. The mission of spreading the message of challenged instruction and adaptive golf has been a passion of mine for many years. What better way to spread the message than through a “school bus” which has been given a second chance as the B.I.O.N.I.C. Golf “Wellness Coach” in bringing golf to the challenged!!! The end result will be our making a difference in the lives of at least 1,000 people who have given up hope, vision, and self-confidence because of a physical challenge. In effect, I am enlisting your help in assisting these “students” … your friends … with golf as a reentry skill to life and their communities. This has been my mission since 1990 and I am asking you to join me in this effort. *The list has now grown to 100+ sites and will be updated with changes. The B.I.O.N.I.C. Golf Cross-Country Training Tour will commence in the Dallas - Fort Worth Area and progress westward.
Completing 100 Clinics across the country with 10 students in each class would lead a minimum of 1,000 to the enjoyment of the game of golf and a return to the golf course. Depending on the number of Professionals desiring attendance, additional Clinics will be considered. In addition, where there is over 400 miles between sites it may be possible to locate a midway point to add an additional site. This could possibly be a remote area where students would not be able to travel to another site. This would increase the sites as well as the students

students and 10 to 20 instructors attending.
These will be one (1) day
clinics for both instructors and students and will allow your
community to participate in a goal of getting 10 local challenged
golfers back to the game of golf. We will also be having 1½-hour
Golf Wellness Clinics for those who can’t participate in the full
day of training. The full day Clinics will have a fee of $100.00
charged for each Professional, who, in turn, should receive
Continuing Education Points for their attendance from the LPGA, PGA
or their affiliate organizations. The students and the Wellness
Consultants who participate will attend at no charge for either the
full day of training or any 1½-hour Golf Wellness Clinic that will
be held in your area. Any and all donations to help defray the
expenses of this mission and help further the understanding of
people helping people be better, feel better and have more fun doing
what they like to do will be warmly received and appreciated. The
benefits received by participating Wellness Consultants are to help
their friends – new and old – enjoy life; to gain knowledge of how
to share the technology from a new perspective; to increase their
business from sharing products and knowledge in their follow up
process; and to enlarge and enhance their organizations through
those students who decided to join them.
